In 2009, Bvlgari decided to take action on behalf of disadvantaged children around the world, as too many children are unable to fulfill their own aspirations because their lack of education perpetuates the cycle of poverty.
Save the Children
Partnering with Save the Children, BVLGARI launched a campaign of unprecedented ambition and scope, in which part of the proceeds from the sale of Save the Children jewellery – custom designed by BVLGARI – is donated to the charity.
Inspired by the iconic B.zero1 jewellery line, the special collection is available in BVLGARI stores worldwide, select department stores and on BVLGARI’s website (in the US and Japan) and includes the ring at $560, the bracelet at $580 and a pendant at $620, of which $100 goes to the charity. After almost nine years, the partnership has developed into a strong and long-term relationship raising more than $80M globally. Renowned photographer Fabrizio Ferri has actively supported this initiative, giving his time and talent. Over the years, he has photographed more than 250 celebrities that have lent their support as ambassadors, wearing the Save the Children jewels while looking into the camera, often with hands held aloft, in order to help this noble cause. The first campaign launched was STOP.THINK.GIVE, then followed by RAISE YOUR HAND, and half a million customers have purchased pieces from the Save the Children collection.
This ground-breaking partnership brings together the star-power influence of a luxury brand and the practical experience of an NGO to better the lives of over 1 million children in 33 countries. The key areas of intervention are Emergency, Fighting poverty, Education and Youth empowerment. The BVLGARI’s donations benefit at-risk children in 33 countries, specifically in: Albania, Afghanistan, Australia, Bolivia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, China, Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Haiti, India, Indonesia, Italy, Ivory Coast, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Kosovo, Malawi, Mexico, Montenegro, Mozambique, Nepal, Serbia, South Sudan, Spain, Uganda, UK, US, Vietnam and Zambia.
MADEREAL is the new communication theme of 2018 for the partnership, which will allow BVLGARI and Save the Children to tell and celebrate the stories of those who, thanks to this partnership, have changed their own lives with determination and audacity. “Nine years ago, we embarked on a partnership with Save the Children with an audacious dream: to help empower millions of children to build a better future for themselves through the power of education.” – says BVLGARI CEO Jean Christophe Babin. “Because we know that just like a precious piece of jewelery, a wish is first imagined. Almost a decade later, we are proud of the dream we had – and the audacity we have shown with Save the Children in making it real: helping over a million children dream great. Now we move forward. With ambition, with audacity of hope, with a commitment to excellence, and steadfast determination to make many more wishes come true. Because a dream can last forever when it’s #madereal".
