Supplier risk management

In association with LVMH programs and the principles promoted by the Responsible Jewellery Council, this commitment translates into the constant monitoring and management of the supply chain in order to continually improve the social and environmental performance of its partners. Bulgari has put in place a Supplier Risk Management Process made up of three main steps:

1. Supplier Risk Assessment
2. Social & Environmental Audits to Suppliers
3. Follow-up

The Supplier Risk Management Process is standardized and applied among all Bulgari Divisions; however, since Bulgari Businesses (Jewelry, Watches, Accessories, Perfumes) and supply chains are characterized by specific peculiarities and risks, auditing strategy and methodology may change from case to case and is discussed and agreed upon yearly by CSR and Business Units. Audits may be led either internally (by Bulgari CSR/Purchasing Departments) or externally (by External Consultants); they may be announced, semi-announced or not announced (Bulgari has included in agreements with suppliers the right to visit suppliers' factories at any moment). Audit methodology is based on the most recognized standards: SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) 4 pillars; Social Accountability SA 8000; ISO 14001; RJC Code of Practices; RJC Chain of Custody. The more adequate auditing methodology is applied based on supplier risks.

Bulgari believes that continuously advancing in its ethical, social and environmental performance is a fundamental component of the excellence of the products delivered to its clients. In all its activities, Bulgari is committed to complying with all applicable laws, regulations and national and international conventions, as well as with best practices, particularly as regards ethics, human rights, social responsibility and protection of the environment, and business partners and suppliers are required to do the same. Therefore, all third parties (suppliers, distributors, subcontractors, etc.) must respect the principles listed in the LVMH Supplier Code of Conduct and Bulgari Annex on Mineral Supply Chains in line with LVMH Group expectations, taking into account Bulgari's strong commitment to the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC).

Bulgari Responsible Sourcing Policy for Mineral Supply Chains

The Responsible Sourcing Policy For Mineral Supply Chains, signed by the CEO, is intended to affirm Bulgari’s commitment to respecting human rights, avoiding contributing to finance conflicts and complying with all applicable laws, regulations, national and international conventions and relevant UN sanctions and resolutions. Through this policy, Bulgari commits to implementing the five-step framework of the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas, including the provisions of the Supplement on Gold.
