THE TORLONIA MARBLES.
COLLECTING MASTERPIECE

BVLGARI AND FONDAZIONE TORLONIA HAVE JOINED FORCES TO PRESERVE CLASSICAL ART

"The Torlonia Marbles. Collecting Masterpieces" exhibition will run from October 14 to June 29, 2021 at Villa Caffarelli (Capitoline Museums), Rome. The 92 restored masterpieces were selected among the 620 pieces from the Torlonia Collection as remarkable examples of ancient sculpture.

The restoration work was carried out by Fondazione Torlonia following the modern criterion of minimal action, therefore ensuring the conservation of the statues and their natural patina, which tells their story and the passing of time. Several discoveries were made, such as the traces of color on the 3rd-century AD Portus Relief, a particularly important find uncovered at the Torlonia Family's property in Porto (around 1864).

It is in Rome that the Torlonia Collection grew through acquisitions and archaeological excavations. Bvlgari's commitment to reveal such a treasure to a larger audience is a celebration of the company’s cultural roots and a legacy for future generations.
