Bvlgari parfums' commitment to a magnificent tomorrow

Bvlgari is committed to reducing its carbon emissions by 50% by 2030 versus 2019, while factoring in economic growth. This goal covers Bvlgari’s direct activities, as well as indirect activities that are linked to the purchase of raw materials and the transportation of products, both of which represent most of its carbon footprint. Bvlgari's commitment and strategy are structured around 3 pillars.

Every fragrance’s journey begins with Bvlgari’s Master Perfumers seeking inspiration amidst nature’s offerings, unearthing a range of captivating facets which enhance olfactory contrasts to bring out vibrant emotions. Our perfumers are at the heart of our creative process, masterfully combining exquisite natural and innovative synthetic raw materials, skilfully blended to create fragrances that epitomise Bvlgari’s uniqueness. Considering that natural ingredients can have higher impacts on the environment than synthetic ingredients, Bvlgari believes that crafting magnificent fragrances rests on choosing the right ingredients based on a balanced mix of elements: the olfactory signature and its environmental and social performance.

For the longevity of our planet and the wellbeing of people, Bvlgari must protect our Earth’s natural riches by transforming its business activities to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This starts with responsibly designing magnificent products that reduce the consumption of resources, increasing and enabling the circularity of Bvlgari’s products, and using recycled materials for packaging. At present, 99% of products use FSC-Mix certified cardboard (FSC® N003847), and 16% of the materials used in production comes from recycled sources. Beyond packaging optimisation, Bvlgari is focused on reducing air transportation and is working closely with logistics partners to explore new solutions to decrease its carbon footprint.

Bvlgari strives to understand the origin of the ingredients it uses and to contribute to sustainable sourcing through initiatives such as Flower Gems of India, for jasmine, or Tree of Life: The Gems of the Philippines, for Elemi. To support the quest to lower its fragrances’ environmental footprint, Bvlgari uses the EcoScent Compass®, a tool developed by its partner, Dsm-Firmenich, where each fragrance is assessed against its impact on climate, nature, people, and community.

In everything it does, Bvlgari considers its people, its partners, and the communities in which it operates. Bvlgari is committed to continuously training and inspiring the talent it is connected to by fostering a culture of environmental awareness and creativity while encouraging collaboration with its partners.

Bvlgari aims to share its sustainability ambitions and detailed information about the materials used for packaging and about ingredients’ origin, as well as openly disclosing information about product safety and how Bvlgari abides by the highest standards for its products. Bvlgari also fosters supply chain transparency so partners and suppliers can meet its sustainability standards and help take the traceability of its products to the next level.

Recycle

Recycle

Bvlgari strives to reduce the number of components and materials to enhance the recyclability of its creations. To achieve this mission, it conducts recyclability tests and provides its clients with relevant information and sorting instructions to ease the recycling process during the home-use phase. Recycling also means working towards integrating recycled materials, like in the case of Bvlgari Man collection which integrates between 10% and 40% post-consumer recycled (PCR) glass into the flacons.

A refill solution can help reduce environmental impact, which is why all new Bvlgari creations have been designed to be refillable. The goal is to have a refill solution available for 50% of products by 2030. For this reason, Bvlgari is focusing on designing a new refilling method for its products, which will be available starting from 2025.

Bvlgari’s is dedicated to guaranteeing the utmost safety of its fragrances and to protect the wellbeing and trust of clients.
