On January 19, Bvlgari hosted the fourth installment of the “INNOVATING THE PRESENT FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE” webinar series, spotlighting the Roman Jeweler’s continuous commitment to the promotion of socially responsible initiatives, with a strong focus on women’s fundamental role in building new benchmarks across different fields.

SUPPORTING THE FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19
Committed since day one in the fight against Covid-19, Bvlgari is proud to have made its part in facing this and future pandemics. Among the key initiatives, Bvlgari financed the purchase of a hi-tech microscope for Rome’s Lazzaro Spallanzani National Institute for Infectious Diseases, converted the activities of its fragrance manufacturing facilities to produce hand sanitizing gel to be donated to hospitals across Italy, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, and created the Bvlgari Virus Free Fund, a financial program to support high-end institutions, including University of Oxfordʼs Jenner Institute and The Rockefeller University all pursuing innovative research strategies to achieve remission and cure of different types of virus. As part of its collaboration with the Jenner Institute, Bvlgari has been closely supporting the development the ‘Oxford vaccine’ created in collaboration with AstraZeneca.

Striving to empower women in science, the Bvlgari Virus Free Fund collaborates with the Rockefeller University, a world-leader in biomedical research also famous for its powerful force of female scientists. With the launch of the Bvlgari Women & Science Fellowship in Covid-19 Research, the Maison not only supports the development of new therapies, drugs and vaccines, but also the brightest scientific female talents of the future.

To promote gender equality and female empowerment in the workplace and in the wider community, Bvlgari adopts the principles of its Code of Conduct, inspired by the United Nations Guidelines on Women’s Empowerment and embraces many of LVMH’s initiatives in this field. To date Bvlgari is proud to share that 62% of its international managers are women.
