THE TORLONIA MARBLES.
COLLECTING MASTERPIECE

BVLGARI AND FONDAZIONE TORLONIA TOGETHER TO PRESERVE CLASSICAL ART

"The Torlonia Marbles. Collecting Masterpieces" exhibition will run from October 14th 2020 until June 29th 2021 at Villa Caffarelli (Capitoline Museums), Rome. The 92 restored masterpieces were selected among the 620 pieces of the Torlonia Collection as remarkable examples of ancient sculpture.

The restoration works were carried out by Fondazione Torlonia following the modern criterion of minimal action, ensuring the conservation of the statue without ever altering the natural patina, which tells its story and the passing of time. Several discoveries were made, such as the traces of colour on the 3rd century AD Portus Relief, a particularly important find discovered in the Torlonia Family's property in Porto (around 1864).

It is in Rome that the Torlonia Collection grew through acquisitions and archaeological digs. Bvlgari's commitment to reveal such a treasure to the larger audience is a celebration of the Company’s cultural roots and a legacy for future generations.
