B for Beirut

A CSR INITIATIVE FROM BVLGARI
IN COLLABORATION WITH SAVE THE CHILDREN LEBANON

Three months after the explosion that shook Beirut, Bvlgari launches a fundraising initiative to help sustain Save the Children’s Education in Emergency intervention in Lebanon.

The devastating explosion that hit Beirut on August 4 of this yearleft a dramatic impact on a mass scale. A disaster that resulted in over 200 deaths, more than 6500 injured, 300.000 homeless and about 15$ billion in property damage, aggravating a national humanitarian crisis in a country already grappling with the collapse of the banking system and the economic and health crises made worse by COVID-19.

B-for-Beirut and Save the Children. Little girl with a book in her hands.

Save the Children aims to provide non-formal education for 600 out-of-school children, and support 380 children at risk of drop out of public schools through catch-up classes to fill the learning gap for children. The support will also focus on the continuous professional development of 30 teachers, protect girls, and raise awareness on challenges forcing children to leave school and preventing them from returning, such as child marriage. Additionally, the programme aims to reach 300 parents with awareness-raising on education, child protection and COVID-19 prevention – all in Beirut’s blast affected areas or in other vulnerable communities in Lebanon.
