A sustainable and innovative approach
In the world of retail distribution, Bulgari presents the first complete measurement and mapping of the CO2 emissions produced in manufacturing the furniture of a retail space.
SUSTAINABILITY IN RETAIL
Bulgari encourages solutions that allow stores to partially—rather than fully—replace window showcases by changing the fabrics according to a calendar set by the Maison. For the temporary and pop-up concept stores, such as the Watches or High Jewelry events, Bulgari has envisioned and designed multi-use modular furnishings that disassemble and reassemble an average minimum of three times for ease of transport.
RETAIL NETWORK AND CARBON FOOTPRINT
In the world of retail distribution, Bulgari presents the first complete measurement and mapping of the CO2 emissions produced in manufacturing the furniture of a retail space (specifically Dubai Mall Fashion Avenue). The adoption of the innovative measuring system makes Bulgari a pioneer: from 2023, all the new projects will make explicit the foreseen overall impact.
BULGARI MANIFATTURA VALENZA
Inaugurated in 2017, the Bulgari Manifattura Valenza spans 160,000 square feet, making it the largest jewelry manufacturing complex in Europe. The Manifattura was designed and built with an eye for energy and environmental sustainability using technology and materials with low environmental impact. This has been acknowledged by its LEED Gold® Certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), a recognized international symbol of sustainability achievement and leadership, which Bulgari also attained for its Horizon Distribution center in Ireland.
ENVIRONMENTAL STANDARDS
The Maison's production sites have also worked their way toward being certified with ISO 14001 (the standards for Environmental Management Systems) and ISO 45001 (the standards for Health and Safety Management Systems) for the Manifattura Valenza and the High Jewelry Workshop in Rome; ISO 14001 for the Accessories site in Florence and for the Watches production sites in Switzerland; ISO 50001 (highest standards for Energy Management System) for the Horizon Distribution center in Ireland. In 2022, Bulgari achieved the goal of having 100% of its production sites and distribution centers ISO 14001 certified.
