A collection of historical collections

Assembled by the Torlonia family in nineteenth-century Rome, the collection was restored and returned to public view only in recent years. Beyond showcasing the richness and diversity of Roman sculpture, the exhibition highlights the collection's unique character as a "collection of collections." Bringing together works from some of the most important earlier collections in Rome, it traces the history of collecting antiquities from the Renaissance through the nineteenth century.

Bvlgari and Fondazione Torlonia

Bvlgari's support, first for the restoration of a selection of over 100 sculptures from the Torlonia Collection and for the exhibition, is the result of a partnership with Fondazione Torlonia dedicated to preserving and promoting the world's most important private collection of Imperial Roman sculpture. This sponsorship forms part of Bvlgari's wider commitment to cultural initiatives and artistic patronage, while supporting Fondazione Torlonia's programme of conservation and public engagement, helping to preserve and promote Rome's extraordinary cultural heritage for future generations. At the same time, it represents an homage to the Maison's Roman roots and to the classical ideals of beauty that continue to inspire its creations, reinforcing Fondazione Torlonia's mission to preserve and promote the Collection for future generations.
