Responsibly Sourced Diamonds

Following the establishment in 2003 of the Kimberley Process—a multilateral trade body with the goal of preventing the flow of conflict diamonds—all the diamonds that Bvlgari buys are covered by its certification scheme. Bvlgari suppliers are also members of trade associations such as the World Diamond Council, which aims to implement the Kimberley Process through a self-regulation system.
Indeed, through the application of the World Diamonds Council System of Warranties, Bvlgari ensures that the invoices include a specific statement declaring that diamonds are not coming from conflict-affected areas and respect UN resolutions.

In addition to requiring a Kimberley Process certificate, Bvlgari also works with suppliers who achieved the Responsible Jewelry Council (RJC) Code of Practices Certification. As of today, 100% of Bvlgari's diamond suppliers have obtained the RJC Code of Practices Certification.

Environmental and work conditions

To ensure that all the suppliers are following sustainable and ethical practices and abiding by human rights laws, Bvlgari conducts its own independent audits.
This involves traveling to the mining countries and checking environmental, social and working conditions, as well as pressuring its suppliers to constantly implement their practices.
