SERPENTI MEETS ART

As an endless source of inspiration for creative production, the snake has always been intertwined with the world of art. On the occasion of Serpenti’s 75th anniversary, Bulgari is launching a special series of creative collaborations with contemporary artists, delivering their own vision of the mythical serpent.

An experience taking place in different cities all around the world inviting visitors to explore the icon’s infinite metamorphosis through a multisensory path that unites past, present and future.

Refik Anadol
Born in Istanbul, the Los Angeles based media artist and director Refik Anadol is a true pioneer in the aesthetics of machine intelligence. As a “philosopher of space” he creates site-specific public art using a parametric data sculpture approach, as well as live audio-visual performances resulting into immersive installations.

CATE M
CATE M is a self-taught sculptor and artist, who perceives art as her secret escape from real life, moving between realism and fantasy. Drawing inspiration from the animal world as well as from her childhood, she places nature and the environment at the centre of her creative work, as an issue that should no longer be neglected.

Daniel Rozin
Born in Jerusalem but living in New York, Daniel Rozin investigates the structure and materiality of images. In his work the artist employs a range of materials, probing at what constitutes an image, as well as what can be transformed into one. His interactive installations integrate the viewers, in real time, to create a representation of their likeness in the object.

Sougwen Chung
Considered a pioneer in the field of human-machine collaboration, Chinese-Canadian artist and researcher Sougwen 愫君 Chung explores the mark-made-by-hand and the mark-made-by-machine as an approach to understanding the dynamics of humans and systems.

Davide Quayola
Quayola employs technology as a lens to explore the tensions and equilibriums between seemingly opposing forces: the real and artificial, figurative and abstract, old and new. Constructing immersive installations with custom computer software, he re-imagines canonical imagery through contemporary technology.

Liu Jiayu
Known for her immersive installations, Jiayu Liu is a media artist based in London and Beijing. Her work recreates and augments the natural world, focussing on relationships between human, nature and the environment. Using streams of data as well as digital technologies, her artworks enable new communication nodes with audiences.

Qian Lihuai
Qian Lihuai was born into a family of bamboo masters in Wuzhen, home to the art of bamboo weaving for 500 years. Practicing this traditional craft in his ancient town, Qian became the representative inheritor of the provincial intangible cultural heritage of Wuzhen bamboo weaving.

Wu Junyong
Since discovering the possibilities of vector graphics animation, Wu Junyong has become a pioneer of quirky, experimental digital animation works, while continuing to paint and work across a range of media. The artist has created an idiosyncratic pictorial language of codes and symbols, through which many possible meanings are both revealed and concealed.
