HIGH JEWELLERY PRODUCTION SENIOR DIRECTOR
I am Massimo, I am from Rome and I joined Bvlgari in 1988. Over the past 36 years, I have had a wide array of roles; today, in the role of High Jewellery Production Senior Director, I oversee the entire production, creation and delivery process in due time. Fuelled by passion and curiosity, I developed my career through jewellery workshops and prototyping activities, progressively growing a team of experts. My personal history intertwines with my professional journey, with each inevitably influencing the other, providing me with the opportunity to grow both professionally and as a person.
I am a very curious and attentive person, which allows me to constantly find new solutions, including innovative ones, without ever forgetting tradition, which is necessary for thinking in alternative and progressive ways. I pay close attention to the suggestions and ideas of others, which are fundamental for significantly enriching my experience at work. I strongly believe in teamwork and collective effort, which is why I'm passionate about helping others and joining forces to achieve a common goal.
My workday is filled with various activities related to product development, and each day presents new tasks which are challenging but amazing. Together with the workshop managers and goldsmiths, we focus primarily on interpreting various sketches received from designers and we brainstorm how to approach the development of different pieces of jewellery. This is an essential part of the process as we bring the designers’ drafts to life while respecting their creative ideas. Above all, it is our duty to enhance and respect the magnificent gemstones that Mother Nature has created for us.
When I arrived at Bvlgari, I found a company with a family-like atmosphere, perhaps because there were not many of us at the time. Over the years, the Maison has grown both in term of numbers and professionally, yet it has maintained this team-oriented approach. I still feel a strong sense of belonging to a company that has evolved over time while always firmly believing in achieving goals as a team.
In my career, the biggest challenge has been following Bvlgari through its evolution and growth, which is something that forces you to adapt, rethink, and grow. But the extraordinary thing has been adapting our High Jewellery workshop in line with our exponential business growth. In just a few years, we have quadrupled our production capacity, ensuring quality and efficiency and, above all, we have integrated the team with great care... and you know what? We have never compromized on quality. These moments of significant development have been a great opportunity to grow all together, whatever our role.
