New Flagship Store Opens on Via Montenapoleone
Bvlgari has opened a new space for its extraordinary creations in Via Montenapoleone, in the heart of Milan’s international luxury district. It will house – for the first time in the city – “Tubogas & Beyond”, a selection of Tubogas creations and other iconic pieces from Bvlgari’s historic collection.
Roman Inspiration, Milanese Architecture
The new flagship store has been created inside the historic Taverna Radice Fossati building, a neoclassical masterpiece designed by Ferdinando Albertolli in 1835. The interior design draws its inspiration from the traditions of Rome, on which the brand’s identity is based, and the architectural heritage of Milan. The building houses the work of Fabio Viale and Luca Pignatelli, artists known for their ability to bring together the classic and the modern.
The light of Roman sunsets melts into the furnishings by Mangiarotti, with details inspired by Milanese masterpieces such as the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, Villa Necchi Campiglio and the Palazzo dell’Arengario designed by the celebrated architects Griffini-Magistretti-Muzio-Portaluppi in 1940.
Bvlgari Tubogas Collection
Shining with the sophisticated radiance of yellow gold, the collection firmly elevates the original essence of Tubogas towards a timelessly modern style. From simpler designs to creations richly set with coloured gemstones or embellished with emblematic Bvlgari design motifs, Bvlgari Tubogas represents a unique convergence between the Maison’s most original and distinctive aesthetic codes.
Tubogas & Beyond
For the opening of the new flagship store, a selection from Bvlgari’s historic collection will pay a special visit to Milan: “Tubogas & Beyond’’ focusses on one the Maison’s icons, telling a story that goes back nearly a hundred years and which drew inspiration from the gas tubes used up to the end of the 19th century. An avant-garde approach, but also a stylistic signature.
The selection, that has been specially made to mark this important inauguration, includes notable pieces such as the first Tubogas bracelet, from 1941, and the first Tubogas watch (1948-1949) in Bvlgari history, but there is also a 1974 three-tone gold Monete Tubogas choker featuring three ancient Greek coins, which once belonged to the private collection of Barbara and Frank Sinatra.
L’Essenza di Milano
To mark the opening of its new Montenapoleone flagship store, Bvlgari presents a unique selection of jewelry creations together with two watches, in a limited edition dedicated to Milan.
For a city that has always combined tradition and innovation, Bvlgari has created a Bvlgari Tubogas capsule collection. It includes a set with a necklace and matching earrings with rubellite and pavé diamond inserts, and a double loop choker in pink gold studded with tourmalines, peridots and amethysts.
The two limited edition watches have also drawn inspiration from iconic Milanese emblems. The first, an Octo Finissimo Automatic is in red, the color of the cross on the city flag, a symbol of independence and civic pride.
The second watch, Serpenti Tubogas, is inspired by the celebrated grass snake that is the symbol of Milan; with its double loop steel and pink gold bracelet. The red dial with a sunburst guilloche is set in diamond pavé on the bezel.
