TITANIUM GÉRALD GENTA ARENA BI-RETRO SPORT
This Titanium execution expresses the sport-chic essence of Genta at its best, featuring jumping hours which are displayed through a window at 12 o’clock, while the minutes are tracked on an arc spanning the top half of the black anthracite dial, across which the minute hand travels and snaps back to zero every 60 minutes. The same holds true for the date, which is set in a smaller arc at 6 o’clock.

GÉRALD GENTA, MORE THAN A LEGEND
As a visionary watchmaker and designer, Gérald Genta left behind a legacy of iconic designs. Not only did he pioneer genre-defining sporty chic models and Grand Complication timepieces, but he also introduced new ways to read time with his retrograde and bi-retrograde movements. And yet, he never forgot his sense of playfulness, infusing the art of watchmaking with his rule-breaking attitude. In 1982, Gérald Genta created his own atelier in Geneva. This was the beginning of a period of tremendous success and unleashed creativity.

ORCHESTRATING THE GRANDE SONNERIE
For the brand's 25th anniversary in 1994, Gérald Genta came up with its most powerful statement ever: the first Grande Sonnerie with a self-winding system. It contains more than 1,000 components, a Westminster carillon with 4 hammers, and 2 barrels, one for the chime and one for the movement. On top of that, it also features a tourbillon, a perpetual calendar, and a second time zone display. Built as a pyramid, the case is also very special. Nothing less than this. Watch lovers continue to be amazed by this masterpiece even today.
THE FIRST RETROGRADE WATCH
A true turning point in the history of horlogerie, the original Arena watch was the first retrograde watch on the market flaunting the unforeseen combination of jumping hours and retrograde minutes. A rare, complex and exacting mechanism that represents a triumph of precision and know-how, which would become one of Gérald Genta's most recognized and signature masterpieces.
2000: GÉRALD GENTA AND BVLGARI
In the year 2000, the Gérald Genta brand was acquired by Bvlgari — and its teams and knowledge were subsequently integrated into the Bvlgari watches crafted at Le Sentier. Their decades of expertise helped lay the foundation for Bvlgari as an unrivaled force in the world of Haute Horlogerie.
